Philadelphia Contemporary
Philadelphia Contemporary is a nomadic contemporary art organization that presents visual art, performance art, and spoken word across the city - while setting its sights on establishing a freestanding, globally oriented, and locally aware non-collecting arts institution. For this endeavor, I contributed to their capital campaign efforts by creating a theme that would bring a verbal synthesis to their beliefs about what a modern day museum should and could be.

The museum creates and performs art in all accessible public spaces, engaging with passersby, and enriching the lives of residents throughout the city. A future home for the museum would have to be rooted in this same experimental and experiential approach, acting as a space that is transformative and unconventional in its practices. The concept “Art Moves” as a campaign theme, captured the cultural and philosophical essence of the organization: that the fluidity of art has equal if not more meaning and value than being confined to a singular space. Art moves - taking shape amidst the creative pulse of the city.
